GENEXPERT
GENEXPERT MTB/RIF is a semi-quantitative, nested realtime PCRMolecular diagnostic test for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) complex DNA and Rifampicin-resistance (RIF) associated mutations of the rpoB gene for both Pulmonary and Extrapulmonary Specimens.
In India Genexpert is known as the CB-NAAT. ( Cartridge Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test).
Patients, who have any Rifampicin resistance (RIF), shall be managed as in MDR TB.
